Simchas & Tchotchkes

Happy Holidays!

What a wonderful year we have planned for you!!

First, we want to share our happy news.

As of this very instant we are being joined by a young, fresh associate!

Lisa Hammel Ketchum (you can call her Lisa) has agreed

to join the fun filled world of Simchas & Tchotchkes.

For us it means greatly needed help, in shopping, cleaning, and selling.

For you it means someone with a key to the shop will always be at Temple on Sundays.

By the way, Judy Williams and Martha Newby (Temple secretary) also have keys.

For her efforts, Lisa will receive 1/2 the salary we more experienced women earn.

All in all, it adds up to several kisses on the cheeks and an occasional pat on the touché.

Between the three of us, we have stocked the shelves with incredible items.

Not only are we joining a trend, we will be leading it once you run out of the building

wearing your sensational sterling silver Bendel bracelet.

This open link adornment is strung with a piece of red yarn -

symbols in Kaballah for warding off the evil eye!

Admit it!  We could all use a little help in the evil eye department.

These bracelets will be made available in women’s and men’s sizes.

The bracelets are only the tip of the jewelry iceberg this year.

We also have treasures for your ears, necks and fingers—

All new and very beautiful.  But that’s not all.

The shop is filed with new mezuzahs, challah platters,

candlesticks and Havdalah sets.

We have wonderful children and adult tzedek boxes too.

Along with our wonderful Judaica, we have super gift items

that will knock  your socks off.

Don’t forget to come in for your free kiss—and please,

don’t all head for Lisa—older women have feelings too!

Sisterhood needs your help more than ever.

Lets all make this a great year.

Calling All Cooks

Dear Cook,
or those people who may know a cook:

 Sisterhood needs you!!
To be more precise,
Sisterhood needs your recipes,

your Mother’s recipes,
your Grannies’ recipes,
and your neighbors’ recipes.

  After many wonderful years
of cooking with
“The Matzo Ball”,
the orange covered gem
full of magical morsels is gone!!

  Not to worry.
You won’t have to tackle holidays
and meals unarmed.

Sisterhood is gathering information
for a new cookbook,
and we need your help.

  Send us anything.
Send us everything.
Send us recipes with a story,
or stories with a recipe.

There are no bad recipes,
only bad cooks.

  We aren’t in a hurry,
but sooner is better than later.

 Send recipes to
Martha Newby at the Temple,
Sharon Pressman or Sherri Solochek.

Got ya!!

You were seen
admiring the
Social Hall art work.

You were overheard
talking about the art,
and we even heard you
whisper about the pieces
you keep meaning to bring in.

Now is the time.
The art filled walls are phenomenal
and ever-hanging.

They are always enjoyed.
Bring your art works
to hang in our gallery too.

Remember to sign the back
and reclaim them
whenever you would like.
