Youth Group

Anyone in 8th grade, or post bar/bat mitzvah, through high school  graduation can become an active member.  Dues required for National membership are $18 per person and allow us to participate in both National Reform and Conservative Youth Group activities.

Our goals are to unite local Jewish youth and to continue interest in pursuing Jewish identity and activities.  Our goals for the current calendar year are to make ourselves more noticeable as a service/religious organization with the adult congregation and in the Huntington community.

We have traditionally sponsored fund raising activities (selling bagel breakfast before religious school, Passover breakfast, etc.), and are trying to unite the youth group with the adult congregation (offering breakfast, helping with B’nai Brith food drive, working with the congregation on capital campaign, donating plants to create a “living succot”), and with the  younger school children (serving as “entertainment” during tot shabbot, running the end of year maccabia games and Purim carnival).  We’ve had “lock ins” as well as bowling parties with youth from other regions.

Shoshana Fineman is the Youth Advisor for this year.
