The organized Jewish community in Huntington, West Virginia began nearly 120 years ago.  B’nai Sholom Congregation was born in 1974 - a result of the merger of B’nai Israel Synagogue (founded in 1910) and Ohev Sholom Congregation (founded in 1887).  In keeping with our reform, conservative and orthodox traditions, B’nai Sholom is affiliated with both Union for Reform Judaism and The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism
